Children are strange things… I should know I was one. But despite the strange tendencies of children, it is amazing the love and support that a parent shows their child. Each day I am overwhelmed with the love and support my parents have showed me my whole life, and it is something that I cannot express how grateful I am. From a child, the biggest thing I can remember my parents doing is pushing me to become my own person. I had struggled with trying to fit in and become what other people wanted me to, but my parents were always there to show me that I was my own person. Whenever we went out on vacation my father let me use his camera to take pictures and I began to fall in love with photography.
Eventually my dad ended up giving me his Nikon D50. For me it was a priceless gift (while for my dad it was an excuse to get a new camera). Either way I did not care I took that camera and shot whatever I wanted. A few Christmas’s later, they got me something that was a step up from a hand-me-down. They got me my own brand new DSLR. I was so excited I took hundreds of pictures that day. It’s crazy to see how things play out.
Nearly a year later I began to start up in the photography business. They were one of the first people that came to me to have a session. It’s cool to still have the support from my parents that I never lost. They have recently gotten into ballroom dancing in the past few months, and it has been cool to see their passion of dance. I was blessed to be able to capture that passion with what they have been supporting me in. We then got to go out and have some fun in the fall weather. We were totally surrounded by the vibrant fall colors. Nearing the end of our session I realized that a parent’s love is not conditional, their love comes from within and flows out.
